If you’ve read our previous journals, by now you would already know that each plant has different needs, because we have already repeated that too often. To make your plants grow well, they need to be in the right environment.

Read on to find out which plants are perfect for the rooms in your house.

LIVING ROOM
For the room that is used to lounge with family and guests and has a lot of foot traffic, you can either show the house’s elegance with rubber tree plants or bird of paradise plants. If you’d like to add some colors and fun, begonia or cacti and succulents can be great additions!

HOME OFFICE
For offices, we like to recommend interesting looking plants, something nice to look at when you’re in need of ideas and a break. Begonia is a great option with its unique pattern and colour. Marimo moss balls and jade plants are also suitable for offices as they are thought to bring good luck.

Marimo moss: low to medium light; a swirl every other day, and a change of water every week
Jade plant: bright indirect light; water monthly, or whenever it starts to shrivel

DINING ROOM
The plant lineup that is displayed in the living room can be displayed in the dining room because they have quite the same function— as a place where people mingle. Feel free to mix things up between these room!

KIDS’ ROOM
The most important thing to remember when decorating the kids’ room with plants is that they have to be kid-friendly, so spiky cacti is a no, but succulent is a great option. Kids would also love colourful and responsive plants. Begonia and Neon Pothos are plants that would spike interest and creativity in your little ones.

BEDROOM
Your bedroom should be a sanctuary, so plants placed in this room should create zen atmosphere to boost moods, decrease stress and anxiety, filter toxins. Snake plant, rubber tree and spider plants are great plants that can improve air quality, but remember to keep it minimalistic!

BATHROOM
This is the room that has very different environment. It usually has low sun exposure, high humidity and warmer temperature. Ferns, air plants and photos or philodendrons are plants that are perfect for bathrooms because the space accommodates their needs, so it’s easier to keep them healthy.

Air plants: bright to moderate, indirect light; daily spritzing; high humidity
Pothos or philodendrons: moderate, indirect light; water weekly; regular humidity
